Changing your phone carrier or phone service provider for your voice services will have an effect on your SMS service.
When you port your voice services from one provider to the next, it is extremely likely that the port will break the SMS hosting for texting services with Captivated. In order to mitigate and decrease the down time for texting:
1. Find out the date/time when the port will be completed.
2. Communicate with Captivated Support the date/time that the port will be completed
3. Fill out this Letter of Authorization for any numbers that were affected by the port (local and toll-free)
4. As soon as you notice texts failing after port completion, reach out to Captivated and we will submit the Letter of Authorization to our carrier so we can restore SMS texting as soon as possible. Prepare for a potential downtime of one hour to 48 hours.
5. As soon as your numbers are hosted and live with our carrier, Captivated will communicate with you that you can begin texting again on the line(s).
